“Ilfracombe makes a perfect family holiday destination”

Brimming with coastal charm

Ilfracombe is a charming coastal town, boasting heritage, family entertainment, arts, crafts, and foodie experiences. Standing guard on the pier is Damien Hirsts Verity, supervised by the world’s first lighthouse in our 14th Century chapel on Lantern Hill.

Dramatic hills protect the harbour and town, and the South West Coast Path can be followed from many points along the seafront.
A thriving arts and crafts scene is demonstrated by the many galleries and small retailers around the high street and harbour areas. Foodies will love the range of outlets to be enjoyed. From humble fish and chips, and charming pubs through to Michelin listed boutique restaurants; there is something for all tastes and budgets.
There are plenty of indoor and naturally outdoor attractions and activities.

Focussed around our maritime quarter, a working harbour also hosts boat trips to Lundy Island and high speed ribs to visit the seals and other wildlife along this part of the stunning North Devon coast. If it’s indoor activities then a range of larger and small attractions offer up plenty for everyone. From our quayside Aquarium through to haunted Chambercombe Manor, engaging shows at the Landmark Theatre as well as curios in the towns museum, you’ll struggle to fit it all in.
